What is the national language of India and what should it be?

Most people in India believe that Hindi is the national language of India, because Hindi is the most used language in India.  But this is not true, yet Hindi or any other language has not been accepted as the national language of India.  Let us know, what is the national language of India and what should it be?  What is the India's National Language?

It is a matter of pride for every country to have its own national language, but there are some countries in the world which do not have any official language.  Our India is also included in these countries.

What is the national language?

An important part of the culture of any country is its national language.  Which is used to write, read and interact in that country.

The national language is the language that is used in all the functions of the country, all the official functions of the country are in the same language.

For example, in our neighboring country Bangladesh, the Bengali language has been recognized as the official language and all the work there is done in the Bengali language.

What is the national language of India?  India National Language

No language has been considered as the national language in the Indian Constitution.  Even the Indian Constitution does not even mention "national language".

Yes, under Article 343 in the Constitution of India, Hindi language has been recognized as the official language of India.  This means that,

The Hindi language can only be used in state functions.  Although the government has replaced 22 languages as the official language.

In which central government or state government can choose any language as official language according to its place.

The central government has given Hindi and English as the official language for its functions.

Apart from this, their different local languages have been chosen as the official language in different states.  Such as Punjabi in Punjab and Kannada in Karnataka.

These 22 official languages include Assamese, Urdu, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Bodo, Dogri, Bengali and Gujarati.

All these 22 languages have been recognized as official languages.  In 2010, the Gujarat High Court also spoke of keeping all languages with equal rights.

What should be the national language of India?

When the Indian Constitution was being framed, the question of national language was raised.  Dr. Ambedkar wanted Sanskrit to be the national language of this country.

But he was opposed in all the assemblies, because in this country of diversity, choosing one language as the national language was not right for everyone.

In the Constituent Assembly many people wanted Hindi as the national language of India, but people of non-Hindi states opposed it and it could not be decided.

Still no official language has been recognized as the national language of India.  Because people of every state want to use their local language only.

Hindi people want Hindi to be the national language, Tamil people want Tamil to be the national language.  Similarly, people of every language spoken in India have the same opinion.

For this reason, English is now being dominated in addition to Hindi in India.  English has now become the language used in every state of India.

English is not our language, but people still speak English as their pride.  People who speak Hindi or other local languages are considered small or illiterate.

It is true that it is difficult to make one language of India a national language, but emotion is also something.  Otherwise Israeli does not make Hebrew their national language.

I also want Hindi to be the national language of India, but when I think of those people of South India who do not know Hindi at all, then I am scared.

This is our problem, if we make Hindi the national language, then it will be difficult to convince the Hindi people and if we make non-Hindi language a national language, it will be difficult to convince the Hindi people.

That is, if we have to make one language the national language of the country, then we have to use that language in the whole country.  Every person in India should know that language.

It has been over 70 years since independence, but we have not been able to do anything about it so far.  The national language of India can be Hindi but first we have to bring Hindi in those schools where English is taught and not Hindi.

We have to convince people that we are not tampering with your local language but are listening to our own national language for our country.

I am confident that when there will be people who understand Hindi all over India, no one will oppose it nor will there be any objection to it.

 Conclusion,

As a child, I used to think that Hindi is the national language of our country.  But sadly our country does not have any national language yet.  But there should be

But before choosing any one language as the national language of the country, we have to use that language in the whole country.  And given the current situation, it seems that this is not possible.

Because now people like to speak English more than Hindi.  Speaking in English is considered grace.  Because of our dirty thinking, instead of growing Hindi all over the country, it is becoming less upside down.
